Survey: 3 Key Findings on Consumer Health Plan Choices on PPACA Exchanges

- 40% of those surveyed chose a silver-level health plan; only 23% chose bronze-level plans (the lowest tier level under the PPACA)
- 52% of those surveyed chose health coverage from Blue Cross Blue Shield, 11% chose Aetna, 9% chose Humana, 9% chose UnitedHealthcare and 5% chose Cigna.
- 26% of consumers said the single most important factor for them in chosing an insurance provider and plan type was that the coverage fit their monthly budget.
