- Innovation will be driven by local markets rather than national policy
- Hospitals and cardiologists will continue to align, but certain other specialties are likely to become the focus of integration
- Clinically integrated networks will continue to proliferate and drive alignment
- Payors will still look to acquire primary care physicians as well as specialists
- Payors will develop more creative models to drive hospital savings
- The approach and direction of CMS may change if/when Dr. Donald Berwick leaves
- ACOs won't gain momentum absent an adjustment to the current regulations
