- There has been a 50% increase in deaths from suicide, alcohol, and drug use since 2005.
- Two-thirds of states experienced an increase in rates of premature death from other preventable or treatable causes in 2014–15
- Even in states with the lowest rates, a quarter of adults are obese.
- 56% of adults with mental illness received no treatment in 2013-15, and 18% of children with mental health needs received no treatment in 2016.
