- Families paid an average monthly premium of $264, compared to an average premium of $276 during the 2016 calendar year
- Individuals age 18-24 paid an average monthly premium of $63 while individuals age 45-54 paid an average monthly premium of $170
- This compares to average monthly premium for ACA compliant plans selected by eHealth shoppers for 2017 open enrollment of $378 for individuals & $997 for families.
- 60% of individual short-term applicants were between ages 18 and 34, compared to 58% in 2016.
- The average individual short term insurance deductible was $4,608. The average family individual short term deductible was $8,785
