- Requiring insurers to cover those with pre-existing conditions: 71%
- Not adding to the country's budget deficit: 69%
- Filling the Medicare donut hole: 68%
- Providing enough government financial help so as many uninsured people as possible can get health insurance: 65%
- Requiring that every American have health insurance: 56%
- Limiting awards in medical malpractice lawsuits: 48%
- Creating a government-administered public health insurance option to compete with private plans: 47%
