- Nurse Practitioners visits in retail clinics were associated with lower costs per visit
- The costs associated with treating these conditions were consistently lower when Nurse Practitioners practiced independently
- The rate of emergency room and urgent care visits, and hospitalizations associated with retail clinic visits was lower than with nonretail visits for these conditions
Notes: Common conditions include: upper respiratory, ear, urinary tract and eye infections, allergies and influenza
