  1. Life expectancy has declined for white women without a high school diploma.
  2. Since 2001, the poorest 5% of Americans experienced close to zero gains in survival.
  3. Since 2001, middle- and high-income Americans have gained over 2 years in life expectancy.
  4. The share of incomes going to the wealthiest 10% increased from 33% of total earnings in 1978 to 50% in 2014.
  5. The gap in life expectancy between the top and bottom income quintiles is projected to increase by a decade within a single generation.
